About Me

I grew up on a farm in southeastern Wisconsin, the middle child of three. I was a typical farm girl that belonged to 4-H and lived to show my horse in the county fair.

In 1957, my father sold the milk cows and started a meat packing business. It was from him I developed a work ethic and an entrepreneurial spirit.

I married young and had two daughters. While they were still small I began chipping away at credits toward an undergraduate degree. My original goal was to get a degree in accounting, but soon found technology was my "thing". After eight years, I graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Parkside with a B.A. in Business with a concentration in Management Information Systems.

I have worked as an IT professional at a midwestern insurance company for the last 17 1/2 years managing implementations of new technologies.

My interest in technology has carried over to my personal life along with a growing interest in digital photography and video production. When you combine that with an interest in travel, geneaology and capturing a family's breathless moments, I have found a focus for my retirement. This site begins to explore my interests and how they can be integrated to develop a retirement business.
